It’s that time of the week again: there’s a brand new chart to analyse.
Fun fact though before we begin: Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ is the fifth biggest selling song in the UK ever.
But anyway, here’s what’s happening on this week’s chart:
?? Drake’s at number one again because of course he is. The only song that could come close is the new Justin Bieber and Major Lazer song which is out in a couple of weeks.
?? TWO SONGS HAVE CLIMBED INTO THE TOP 10. The Chainsmokers and Daya have climbed to seven with the excellent ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ and Calum Scott climbs to ten with his cover of ‘Dancing On My Own’.
?? Speaking of climbers, Ariana’s ‘Into You’ has a new peak this week of 14. Imagine if it was the song to knock ‘One Dance’ off number one.
?? It didn’t look like ‘Treat You Better’ by Shawn Mendes was going to do anything for a while, but rest assured: it climbs this week to 20.
?? Last week we introduced you to the Mø vs M.O battle. Both tracks have climbed this week, but ‘Final Song’ edges it again, climbing a huge 25 places to 53. ‘Who Do You Think Of?’ climbs this week to 73.
?? ‘Work From Home’ is at 23 this week, which isn’t bad at all, but it’s the lowest it’s been since release week. It’s not all bad news for 5H though: ‘All In My Head (Flex)’ debuts this week at 82.
?? It’s not all good news for Drake this week. ‘Controlla’ has fallen one place this week, which isn’t a lot BUT STILL.
??After just one week in the Top 40, Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris’ ‘Hype’ slips to 44. Maybe they should re-name it ‘Mildly Interested’.
?? Despite having the music video of the year, Fergie’s 10/10 anthem ‘M.I.LF $’ only enters at 56. We reckon this will be inescapable by August, mind you.
?? And finally, Anne-Marie’s ‘Alarm’ re-enters the chart at 78. There’s something very good about her so we can’t let this flop.
