What’s the best type of chart? Is it the humble pie chart? Or a flip chart? Or maybe the bar chart from The Saturdays’ ‘Up’?
To quote Meghan Trainor: “no”. The best chart is of course the official chart. This week there have been some big movers on that chart, so allow us to walk you through the bops and flops:
?? Drake and co. are still Number 1. Will they ever give someone else a chance? We hope not because ‘One Dance’ is still a bop and a half.
?? David Guetta and Zara Larsson have climbed 30 places from 46 to 16. We were worried this might get overlooked so well done everyone. It’s more good news for Zara too: ‘Girls Like’ is still at 15 and ‘Lush Life’ is at 19.
?? DUA LIPA IS IN THE TOP 20. DUA LIPA IS IN THE TOP 20. DUA LIPA IS IN THE TOP 20. DUA LIPA IS IN THE TOP 20. DUA LIPA IS IN THE TOP 20. DUA LIPA IS IN THE TOP 20.
(‘Hotter Than Hell’ climbs from 44 to 18 this week).
?? We can’t get enough of Adele’s ‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’ at the moment and clearly neither can you. It’s reached a new peak this week at 25.
?? Speaking of new peaks, Ariana Grande’s ‘Into You’ has risen to 34. Which is still 33 places to low, if you ask us.
?? Mike Posner’s ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ is out of the Top 10 for the first time since March.
?? Speaking of songs that seem to have been around for ages, Lukas Graham’s ‘7 Years’ is at 27 this week. It’s the lowest it’s been on the chart ever (it debuted at 24 back in February).
?? Could we be about to have a chart without any Justin Bieber? ‘Sorry’ and ‘Love Yourself’ are at 36 and 37 this week. If anyone needs us, we’re just having a little cry.
?? ‘Into You’ might be on the way up, but ‘Dangerous Woman’ is out of the Top 40 for the first time ever (it currently sits at 44).
?? Warning: you are about to hear about a complete injustice.
Shawn Mendes’ ‘Treat You Better’ has fallen out of the Top 40 during it’s second week.
(It’ll probably be Number One by February 2017).
