7 impossible things bookworms want for Christmas every single year

Bookworms are pretty easy to buy for, tbh. Books, bookish jewellery, books, books, bookish merch and books. We’re easily pleased. if you’re stuck, we’ve already made a list chock full of amazing Christmas gifts for the bookworms in your life.

But there are also a whole load of things we want more than anything that’ll never be waiting for us under the Christmas tree on December 25th. And until we gain magic, we’re just going to have to carry on wishing for them…

An endless mug of steaming hot chocolate

You know the feels. You get so wrapped up in your book that your hot choc has gone cold and you cba to make another. Or you finish the best hot chocolate you’ve ever had and it’s GONE. One just isn’t enough sometimes.

To read Harry Potter for the first time again

Lots of us Potterheads totally associate Harry Potter with Christmas and there’s nothing like settling down on Christmas Eve with a comfort re-read of book one, but can you imagine the pure magic of going in fresh? It makes us want to cry with want.

Peace and quiet

Christmas means amazing food, presents and fairy lights, but it also means family invasions. Sacrificing your bed for your aunt, being nudged off the sofa so your nan can have the best spot and suffering the chaos of younger cousins. ALL WE WANT TO DO IS READ FOR 10 MINUTES IN SILENCE.

A never-ending gift card

When you’ve got a book buying habit as bad as ours, book shopping can get pricey. We ALWAYS have a pile of books on our wishlist until that birthday money comes in and those Xmas gift cards land. We’ve all totally dreamed of having a glitchy one that never runs out. Right?

No one to say ‘We didn’t get you any books – you’ve got so many! *laughs*

But, but, but *cries*. All we want is books. Every year. (Every day, tbh). But are there ever book-shaped pressies under the tree? NO.

A Christmas lie in

We’ve earned it. It’s been a long year and we just want to savour the smells drifting up from the kitchen, the rustle of wrapping  paper and the promise of PRESENTS. Glorious.

Some quality internet time

Yeah, yeah, family time and all that is important. But we also desperately need to know what our friends got and we’re always DESPERATE for those Xmas hauls from our YouTube faves.
