MP! Bookish Quiz Sheet: Bestselling author Karen M. McManus drew Harry Potter and you’ve gotta see her artwork

We got arty with one of our fave authors

By now, Karen M. McManus needs no introduction. Her latest book, ‘One Of Us Is Lying’ has been cropping up on the site a lot recently and with very good reason too. Not only is the novel a New York Times best-seller, but it’s also full to the brim of important Gen Z topics.

From peer pressure to high school cliques to the struggles that LGBT teens face coming out, it’s a brilliant read and one you should definitely delve into this summer.

We recently caught up with Karen and asked her to fill in our brand new MP! Book Quiz Sheet. The sheets are a brilliant way to get to know your favourite authors and full of fun facts and trivia.

Karen even showed off her artistic side by drawing a quick doodle of Harry Potter and wrote a poem about herself. Not bad, eh?!

Want to find out more about ‘One Of Us Is Lying’?

‘Five students go to detention. Only four leave alive.
Bronwyn, the geek, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule.
Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess.
Nate, the bad boy, is already on probation for dealing.
Cooper, the jock, is the all-star baseball pitcher.
And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app.

Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention, Simon’s dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Thursday, he died. But on Friday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they just the scapegoats for a killer who’s still on the loose?

The book’s synopsis is above. You can read more by snapping up a copy of ‘One Of Us Is Lying’ for yourself by clicking here. Karen will also be in the UK on 28th July 2017 for the Young Adult Literature Convention.
