Here at MP! Style, we love keeping up with the latest fashion bloggers and constantly find ourselves inspired by their style and passion. We spoke to Sophie from sophiehannahrichardson.com about her experience as a successful style blogger, and here’s what she had to say.
Blogging has become increasingly popular over the years. What made you first want to start a blog?
I first started out in the fashion industry as a freelance stylist. This later developed into social media and I soon launched a blog to talk about my own style. I’ve always had such a passion for beauty and fashion and I’ve always tried to be a little bit different to the norm. I guess I just wanted to inspire people and showcase my style and a blog was the perfect platform to do just that.
Can you tell us about your personal style? Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
I’d say I’m definitely a 90s girl at heart. When the trend boomed last year I jumped right into the hype. And I’m still loving it. I do have days where I’m very casual, and others when I really go full out. I do love to have a bit of an edge to a look, and I love matching colours within my outfit. If I’m ever inspired this is usually from someone I walk past or someone I’ve stalked on Instagram!
What’s the one item in your wardrobe that you can’t live without?
My black ripped jeans. They’re just such a go-to staple for my wardrobe and go with everything! If I’m ever struggling on what to wear I always start my look off with them.
What spring fashion trend are you most looking forward to?
We love pop stars here at MP! Who’s your celebrity style icon and why?
I love King Kylie! She’s just got this edge that I love. Obviously she inspired me when I dyed my hair green, and I’m a big fan of all of her wigs. She’s got a cool urban vibe to her style as well, which when I’m dressing casual I like to think I have that vibe too.
Finally, what advice do you have for aspiring bloggers?
Be yourself, take good quality photos and think outside of the box for fresh, new content!
