#wwbwd: 9 life lessons from the original Queen B herself Blair Waldorf

When we find ourselves in a tricky situation, we constantly have to ask ourselves, “What would Blair Walfdorf do?” She was the original Queen B of ‘Gossip Girl‘, reigning over the Upper East Side and creating the very foundations of the word ‘slay’ before it was even a thing.

Tbh, she’s the kind of strong-headed, hardworking and confident person we aim to be, so why would we seek life advice from anyone else? Answer: we wouldn’t.

“If you really want something you don’t stop for anyone or anything until you get it.”

Blair is all about striving for what you want and working hella hard in the process. Ain’t nobody getting in our way!

“Whoever said money doesn’t buy you happiness didn’t know where to shop.”

In other words, treat yo’ self. Sometimes we forget ourselves in the grand scheme of life, but we should always be looking out for number one.

“People don’t write sonnets about being compatible, or novels about shared life goals and stimulating conversation. The great loves are the crazy ones.”

Never ever, EVER settle. Know your worth and go out there and find your own epic love. Sure, books and film can over-romanticise ‘the one’, but that isn’t to say all clichés aren’t based on something real and tangible. Have your rom-com moments and let yourself be picky.

“Things are never as bad as you think.”

Sometimes life can be a little scary and overwhelming, but there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Even Blair had her struggles and she’s basically superhuman.

“You need to be cold to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off.”

As much as we agree that love is important in all the ways it can be, both romantic and platonic (not forgetting the fam), it’s also key not to get sucked in without thinking. Sometimes you need to take a step back and realise not all relationships are healthy and make a quick getaway.

“Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen.”

Go out and get it, gurl!

“The most important thing in a relationship is trust. After sex. And hygiene. And earning potential.”

OK, we’re not entirely sure we agree with Blair here. Trust is obvs pretty key to any healthily functioning. However, Blair is a prime example of a girl who unabashedly had her needs seen to. Just because you’re a girl, doesn’t mean you can’t be outspoken about your desires too!

“I’ve been acting like I’m OK, but I’m not.”

You don’t have to pretend like things are perfect all the time. In a world filled with flawless social media profiles, it can seem like everyone is on track with their life goals. That’s definitely not the case though, so remember it’s OK to get sad and downtrodden as long as you look after yourself and get help if things get really bad.

“Haven’t you heard? I’m the crazy bitch around here.”

Own who you are. It’s cheesy AF, but there’s no one quite like you, so celebrate that.
