Oh my God, they’re back again: The Big Reunion 2014 round-up. Episode 1.

The show that revived groups such as Atomic Kitten, 5ive and Blue last year made its massive return tonight as series 2 of The Big Reunion hit ITV2, this time armed with 90s legends Eternal, A1 and er… Girl Thing(?), amongst others.

Tonight’s show focused on introducing us to the newly reformed band which, in full, are *clears throat*… A1, Damage, Eternal, Girl Thing and 3T. But in a shocking twist to this year’s series, the people behind the TV hit have put together their own supergroup, formed of a fivesome of last decade’s male hotties. Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kenzie, Gareth Gates and Kavana are joining forces to bring together their hits under the name 5th Story. It’s all very exciting, isn’t it?

First up to delve into their problems was boyband Damage who can boast the fact that there’s a Spice Boy in the band. Yes that’s right, band member Jade Jones has been dating Baby Spice Emma Bunton for 17 years. The band put themselves together – that’s not something you see much today, is it? – and hit fame at a very young age. Mr Bunton himself had to say: “I was so young when we started that my parents had to sign the record deal for me.”

Let’s look at their stats, shall we?
Members: Rahssan J Bromfield, Andrez Harriott, Jade Jones, Noel Simpson, Coree Richards
Years Active: 1996-2001
Biggest Hit: ‘Wonderful Tonight’ (#3)

Next up were Girl Thing, and whilst we have to admit even we had to do a quick Google search to remind us who they were, their story is one hell of a corker. The band were formed by Simon Cowell to rival the Spice Girls. The band began working with Britney’s stylists and, you guessed it, the Spice Girls’ producers. With a multi-million pound promo campaign fuelled by Sony Records, the world’s press flew to a showcase at the actual Eiffel Tower (each audience member was given a beautiful t-shirt with “I got an Eiffel of Girl Thing” imprinted onto it). After their debut single reached just #8, the band swiftly split once their album was cancelled and their old songs were passed down to original Popstars winners Hear’Say.

Here’s their vitals…
