Beyonce’s makeup artist spills the three mascara hacks you need to know and we’re listening

Want lashes like Beyonce? Her longtime makeup artist, Sir John, has spilled his three best mascara tips and we’re obvs listening.

After all, he clearly knows what he’s talking about.

1. Lengthening mascara is just a primer

Wiggle a black one into the roots of your top lashes “like a toothbrush, then pull it through,” he explains. Bam, instant glam.

2. Focus on the outer corners

“I concentrate my lash game on the outer edges for a mesmeric cat-eye effect,” says Sir John. Layer up a volumising mascara into the outer corners (for added dramz) then, whilst lashes are still wet, push them up with your finger to curl them.

3. Use brown mascara on your lower lashes

Balance the look with a brown lengthening mascara on your bottom lashes. “It’ll look like black from afar, but it’s more flattering up close,” revealed Sir John. GENIUS.

If it’s good enough for Bey, it’s good enough for us.

Now you know the tricks of the trade, why not flaunt your fierce fluttering lashes with a tweet to @maximumpop?
