BBC Music Awards 2014: Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith are nominated for ‘British Artist of the Year’

BBC Music announced the nominees for ‘British Artist of the Year’ and ‘International Artist of the Year’ for the very first BBC Awards bash.


Our fav ginger Ed Sheeran is head to head with the amazing talent of Sam Smith for ‘British Artist of the Year’ and also with Jungle, Royal Blood, Elbow and *drum roll* David Bowie.

While Taylor Swift and her BFF Lorde are nominated with Dolly Parton, Gregory Porter, Pharrell and Prince for ‘International Artist of the Year’.

The show will take place at London’s Earls Court this Thursday, December 11,  Chris Evans and Fearne Cotton will be the hosts. The Awards will be broadcast to millions more across the country as all the action is broadcast on BBC One, Radio 1, Radio 2 and at

Voting for the ‘Song Of The Year’ will open via announcements on Nick Grimshaw and Chris Evans’ breakfast shows.
