Chart Update: Band Aid 30 rocket to number 1 and 1D outsell everyone. Obvs.

Time for another chart update from your good friends at MP! HQ, and things are getting quite exciting in the midweeks with a slew of new entries.

Everybody and their grandmother’s cat seems to have bought a copy of Band Aid 30’s ‘Do They Know Its Christmas’ because the charity single is set for a record breaking number 1 selling over 252, 000 copies in less than a week!

Elsewhere in the chart Clean Bandit is straight in at 2 with the Jess Glynne assisted ‘Real Love’, their second collab’ since ‘Rather Be. Cheeky chappie of pop Olly Murs is also in at 3 with ‘Wrapped Up’ while last week’s Number 1 – Gareth Malone’s All Star Choir’s ‘Wake Me Up’ – slides three places to 4 midweek, followed by David Guetta’s 80s-tastic ‘Dangerous’ which is new at 5. The lovely 5 Seconds of Summer also reenter the chart at number 14 with ‘Good Girls.

Meanwhile in the charts, One Direction are headed for their fourth number 1 album with, handily enough, ‘Four’! To the surprise of no one, the lads are currently outselling the Top 5 COMBINED. Wowzers. For more info and chart geekery head on over to the Official Charts Company website.
