As a few of you may know, a lovely lady named Ariana Grande performed an intimate private gig in London’s Leicester Square last night and who got an invite? Only MP! of course! So for all of you that couldn’t be there, we’re letting you in on all the goss and telling you five things about the performance you really should know!
The setlist for the show was: An acapella ‘Daydreamin” intro from backstage, ‘Right There’, ‘Lovin’ It’, ‘You’ll Never Know’, acoustic versions of ‘Honeymoon Avenue’ and ‘Almost Is Never Enough’, an impromptu rendition of the ‘Put Your Hearts Up’ chorus (with added hey-ey-ey-eys), and ‘The Way’.
She was joined on stage by her boyf! That’s right, Nathan Sykes of The Wanted fame joined Ms. Grande on stage for her performance of ‘Almost Is Never Enough’ and things got a little bit smoochy on stage! How cute of Nath to support his girlfriend at the first ever UK perfomance, awwwww.
The crowd was electric! Although there were only a few competition winning fans in the venue, the Arianators brought their loudest screaming voices to Leicester Square to support their idol. The crowd sang along to every word, cheered after every song and we’ve lost count of how many times we heard “I LOVE YOU ARIANAAAAAAA!”
Ariana can saaaaaaaaang! There’s no denying that the vocals on the ‘Yours Truly’ album are perfect, so we were quite worried that when we saw Ariana perform the tracks live, the songs wouldn’t sound the same but Ari did not disappoint at all. The tracks sounded exactly the same, if not better, when performed live. Her dancing wasn’t too bad either!
In an exclusive Q&A session hosted after the performance, Ariana gushed about how much she loves her UK fans, revealed how the people that work at Seaworld are “sick, twisted people”, she either wants Jennifer Garner or Cheryl Cole (?!) to play her in a movie about her life, her favourite place in the world is the ocean and she’d rather be a puppy-sized elephant than an elephant-sized puppy, obvs.
And then we left and stuffed our face with KFC to try and get rid of our post-gig blues. It didn’t work. We’re seriously hoping Ariana makes another stop off in London if she tours the album.
