LISTEN: Ariana Grande hopes to stop the violence with inspirational Victoria Monet duet ’Better Days’

The past few weeks have seen many tragedies, from the Orlando gay club massacre to multiple race-related killings including Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and yesterday’s shooting in Dallas, to name a few. Ariana Grande has taken to Instagram with a snippet of a new song she has recorded with Victoria Monet, along with a paragraph in tribute to the victims of these recent events. Victoria is a singer and songwriter, who has written for artists including Ariana and Fifth Harmony, and will be joining the girl group on their US tour.

In her emotional Instagram post, Ari states: “Music is a universal language that all of us can feel regardless of color lines, gender, sexuality, age, race, religion… it unifies us. We believe we cannot fight hate with hate, only love. Just as we cannot fight darkness with more darkness. Only Light.”

During this challenging time, we have to remember that the only way we will progress is if the overruling force is #Love. “Music is a universal language that all of us can feel regardless of color lines, gender, sexuality, age, race, religion…. it unifies us. We believe we can not fight hate with hate, only love. Just as we can not fight darkness with more darkness. Only Light.” Too many precious lives were taken from us this week, this month, this year. Rest in peace #AltonSterling. Rest in peace #PhilandoCastile #BlackLivesMatter. And the police that were peacefully guarding the #BlackLivesMatter rally in Dallas…. Rest in peace. #LorneAhrens, #MichaelKrol, #MichaelJSmith, #BrentThompson & #PatrickZamarripa. Stay strong and know that better days are coming… #BetterDays by Victoria + Ariana ..listen on @VictoriaMonet’s soundcloud ?
