1D? No, $100mD! Boyband superstars coin it in

One Direction are predicted to become a $100m business over the next year, according to bosses at Sony Music. The boyband’s phenomenal success has already generated $50m, a figure which Sony chiefs expect to double by 2013.

How rich does this make the boys themselves? Well, Zayn has reportedly bought himself a £2.2m London house… so we would imagine “quite rich indeed” to be a fair estimate.

2013’s sellout world tour, the rumoured 1D television show for Nickelodeon and a range of endorsement deals will ensure the cash continues to roll in for Harry and the boys for a good while yet.

One Direction are now serious players on the global music stage. Their debut album Up All Night reached number one in 16 countries and their live DVD (imaginatively titled Up All Night: The Live Tour) has topped 25 worldwide charts.
