This time we are revisiting some MP! favourites, it’s American pop duo, Karmin. The group is made up of Nick Noonan and Amy Heidemann, who are probably most well known for their pop delights ‘Brokenhearted’ and ‘Hello’. Their piping hot new single is called ‘Acapella’ and not to be confused with the Kelis hit of the same name.
Amy and Nick co-wrote the track with producers, Sam Hollander and Martin Johnson. The song is instantly more addictive than anything that Tulisa might try to sell you. It’s electro-pop beats combined with their sugar coated rap provide an anthem with more sass than Louis Tomlinson (see 1D/Wanted fued).
Interesting Pop Fact- The song was constructed almost entirely of human voices. Heidemann explained how they “flipped the original meaning of Acapella to mean ‘D.I.Y.’ or should we say ‘D.I.A. – Do It Acapella!”.
The song was premiered to the world on Monday, along with the news that Karmin will be supporting the Jonas Brothers on tour. ‘Acapella’ will be released on June 25th and is the lead single from Nick and Amy’s upcoming second album which will be released later this year.
Give it a spin below and prepare to be “Doing It Acapella” all summer long:
