5 Seconds of Summer are nominated at MTV Video Music Awards for ‘Artist To Watch’

Sonia (@upurcraic) from @5sosreport keeps us up to date with everything in the 5SOSFam.

Calling all 5SOS fans!

The boys we are all getting to know and love are making their second national TV debut at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 24th.

Not only are they doing a live performance, along with Ariana Grande and Usher,  but these Aussie boys are nominated for ‘Artist to Watch’ (presented by Taco Bell) for their hit single “She Looks So Perfect”. To say that the 5SOSFam is proud would be quite the understatement.

Twitter completely blew up with congratulatory tweets the boys, although not everyone was happy. Whether it was due to them having to cancel opening for 1D on two shows or 1D not opening at all, there were a lot of unhappy people.

Some people in the One Direction fandom were quite upset with the fact that the most famous boyband in the world hadn’t been nominated for a single award.

Throwback to the vicious Beliebers vs Directioner feud in summer of 2012. We too find it quite odd, but the jealous rage between the two fandoms have gone on long enough don’t you agree?

Bass player Calum Hood tweeted that he won’t be wearing pants that day, so maybe we will finally l see some of that American Apparel underwear ;)

Whatever the lands wear, hopefully people will focus less on the fact that if they listen to the bands on their shirt and more on how amazingly talented these boys are. *coughs* Hayley Williams *coughs*

You can vote for them and other artists here.

Tune in August 24 at 9 p.m ET/6 PT (2am UK time)

I'm a bit awkward but really nice. I have a turtle called Turtle and I believe in the "You should take a nap every day".
