5 Things you need to know about HomeTown, your new favourite Irish boyband.

In a land far far away (it’s not that far away at all actually, it’s only Ireland), there are six little lads ready to take over the pop world. That’s right, we’ve found a brand new boyband for you to drool over. Ladies and Gentleman, please perv over HomeTown.

1There are six members in HomeTown. That’s six new boyfriends to take care of.

It’s hard work being a pop fangirl, isn’t it? So many boyfriends, so little time. They are Dean (20), Dayl (20), Josh (17), Ryan (20), Brendan (17), and Cian (19).

2They are the latest in a long line of groups produced by the boyband factory known as Louis Walsh.

That’s right, the only everyone’s favourite Irish X Factor judge has been auditioning hundreds of boys once again to see who could be the new Boyzone, Westlife, or maybe even Jedward *shudders*. We think he’s done a pretty good job this time round.

3They’re about to hit the road with Olly Murs!

HomeTown have been selected as the opening act for one of the Irish dates on Olly’s Never Been Better Tour. They’ll be playing Dublin’s 3Arena on April 12 alongside Ella Eyre.

Number 4They’re a “vocal group”, don’t you know?

Like most manufactured pop bands, HomeTown don’t play their own instruments but, hey, that never stopped us loving One Direction during the X Factor days or Girls Aloud during their whole career, did it? Louis Walsh himself says he “didn’t want singer-songwriters, just boys that gel well with the right attitude.”

5They’ve already had two number one singles!

How have we never heard of these boys? HomeTown first hit the Irish top spot in 2014 with their debut single ‘Where I Belong’ and then did it all over again last month when ‘Cry For Help’ did exactly the same.

Check out their latest number one hit ‘Cry For Help’ below:

See. They’re good, aren’t they?
