The best part about January is all the season premieres/returns we have to fangirl about. One of the most talked about return was the five year time jump on Pretty Little Liars and it definitely delivered. So now what? We’ve got you covered with the return of Supernatural.
The hellatus is over and season 11 is kicking it up in high gear and most likely going to tear our hearts out with the long-awaited rescue from hell. Here’s five reasons everyone needs to tune into the 2016 return of Supernatural.
[THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS. Read at your own risk.]
SAM’S TRAPPED IN HELL
Crap. We haven’t seen him since the end of season five but our one and only Lucifer is back – and he’s taken Sam hostage. At the end of the mid-season finale, Sam went down to hell with Crowley and Rowena to get some answers from Lucifer to help stop God’s sister, Amara. We don’t know what went wrong with Rowena’s spell (can we even trust her, seriously?!) but Dean needs to find a way to free his brother before Lucifer manipulates him again.
CAS IS BACK
One thing that bothered fans was the absence of Castiel in the last episode. Where was he and why wasn’t he helping the Winchesters? Not to worry, our angel is back and ready to kick some Satan butt. The promo pics from the newest episodes sees Cas and Dean in the cage with Lucifer and Sam. Bring it on!
AFTERMATH OF AMARA’S SMITING
What’s happened to Amara? That’s one of the questions we’ve been asking ourselves since the hellatus began. The full force of heaven struck down onto Amara seconds after she teleported Dean to safety. Is she alive? We think yes as a being that powerful couldn’t have been defeated that easily. However, this is Supernatural. Anything can happen.
DEAN SAVING SAM
How can anybody pass up an opportunity to watch Dean Winchester saving his little brother from Satan? We think all the fans are hanging out for a Dean/Cas/Sam vs Lucifer showdown. But what we really want the most is another rare Winchester hug.
After ten and a half seasons, do we really need a fifth reason for you to watch the return of Supernatural? By this stage you should already be more than obsessed and willing to do anything to tune in and see what happens. But if you really need one last reason, it’s to find out whether or not Rowena is here to help or if she has a secret agenda up her sleeve? Hmm?
