2017 has given us a brand new Justin Bieber and he’s gone GANGSTA!?

New year, new Biebs?

And just like that, 2017 is already better than 2016.

We were just recovering from Ed Sheeran’s latest announcement about new music but it seems that those few precious seconds we took to recover were our undoing. We are officially behind the times. Ed Sheeran’s old news and Justin Bieber is back!

Honestly how do they expect our hearts to cope with this kind of shock?

Nah, we still adore the pants off you, Ed.

But what’s this about Justin Bieber going gangsta, you say?

Well, yesterday rapper 2 Chainz, who goes by the fetching pseudonym of hairweavekiller on Instagram (hang onto your weaves, girls), posted this adorable selfie of himself with Justin Bieber with a very suggestive caption.

New music on the way ??? Take JB to the trap ???

A post shared by 2 Chainz Aka Tity Boi (@hairweavekiller) on

Please don’t think us audaciously bold in inferring from this that Justin and 2 Chainz may have a collab on the way. It would be a pretty merciless joke if they didn’t… *laughs nervously*

But what’s this about taking JB to the trap? Is that the name of the song? Is the genre going to be trap? After the success that Justin has had with his tropical house inspired hits like ‘What Do You Mean?’ and ‘Sorry’ we are both excited and nervous for this possible change in direction.

In fact, the last semi-trap song we remember was Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’ and that was aaaaaages ago back in 2013 – a whole lifetime in the world of pop. Could it be time for trap to be back again? If anyone can do it, it’s Justin.

Oh and a bit more of this wouldn’t go amiss if you please, Biebs…
