We never thought this day would come. We always thought fun-loving Essex girls 2 Shoes were
cruelly underrated on last year’s X Factor – bringing some much needed humour to a fairly dull year with their show-stopping glamour and inspired catchphrases (Ult-nerves! Totes Emosh!). But with so many X factor finalists vanishing into obscurity before the credits had stopped rolling, we didn’t expect to see much more of them. Almost a year later, they’re sharing a record label with their former mentor Tulisa and releasing their debut single!
To be fair, their cover of Kathy Brown’s dance classic ‘Turn Me On (Turn It Out)’ probably won’t be giving Cheryl and Rihanna any sleepless nights, but we defy anyone not to watch the camp-tastic video and not raise a smile. It’s got all the classic 2 Shoes hallmarks; big hair, pink lips, an army of scantily clad male models and, of course, some dangerously high heels. They can really sing too!
We love seeing pop stars having fun, and 2 Shoes are a clearly having the time of their lives. Long may it continue! Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to re-live their jaw-dropping performance of ‘Something Kinda Ooh’ one more time…
