2015 was a great year, wasn’t it? It brought us the return of Little Mix and Adele, Fifth Harmony finally released an album and we watched the biggest chart battle in forever between One Direction and Justin Bieber.
But with the end of one year comes the start of a new one, and here’s 16 things pop fans have to look forward to from 2016.
1. One Direction solo albums
Although we have no new One Direction album to come in the next twelve months, that doesn’t necessarily mean no new music. It just means instead of looking forward to one album, we could potentially be getting five! We all know Zayn’s been working on music for a 2016 release and with Harry registering new tracks, who knows what 2016 will bring?
2. The Get Weird Tour
Little Mix haven’t toured since Spring 2014, so we’re itching to see them back in an arena. With ‘Get Weird’ being their best album to date, we can’t wait to sing along to our favourite tracks with them.
3. Sounds Live Feels Live
Speaking of tours we can’t wait for, 5SOS are popping back on their big old bus next year and travelling all around the world. We can’t wait to see what they get up to on their travels next year.
After what feels like an eternity of waiting, Ariana Grande will finally release her third studio album ‘Moonlight’ in 2016 and sources say it’ll be coming in the first quarter. So hopefully we won’t have too long to wait at all.
We know we only got an album from Fifth Harmony this year but it was way back in July and they’ve already been teasing the recording of the new album on social media. Come on girls, give us the new album we’re worth it!
6. More nude 5SOS photoshoots? Please?
At the end of 2015, we were brought this photo that will change the way we look at boys forever.
Boys had better step tf away unless they’re Calum, Ashton, Michael or Luke so, yeah, #TeamSingleLyf.
7. More topless One Direction selfies… Again… Please?
Remember on Tuesday when time froze and we all died for a bit? No, because of this…
Well, now the 1D boys have more time on their hands, maybe they can get in the gym (not that they need it), then get in front of the mirror just like Liam.
We don’t mean to be greedy because we literally got ‘Get Weird’ literally eight weeks ago, but we’d love a new Little Mix album in 2016. Get on it girls.
9. New Hope Club original music
Now that Stereo Kicks’ Reece and his new band New Hope Club have been signed to The Vamps’ record label, we’ll be expecting new music because we’re impatient little female dogs. Bibby & Co., we expect you in that studio after the Christmas break, ok?
10. Will we finally get ‘ANTi’?
Did you know that it’s been 1137 days since Rihanna last released an album? Now you know why we’re so impatient to get ruddy ‘ANTi’. BITCH BETTER HAVE OUR ALBUM.
11. Will Louis Tomlinson be an X Factor judge?
After his stint at Judges Houses this year, and a quite a free diary for the next twelve months, we’re hoping and praying that we’ll see our Tommo sat with bigwigs Simon and Cheryl behind the desk next year.
12. New music from Zara Larsson
After hitting the top 10 with MNEK earlier this year, and now being named 2016’s One To Watch by yours truly, we bet Zara is itching to get her first full-length internationally released album out into the world, and we can’t wait to hear it.
13. Hailee Steinfeld’s album.
Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Love Myself’ is probably one of the best singles we’ve heard all year and her EP ‘HAIZ’ was pretty incredible too. With her new single ‘You’re Such A’ looking set to take the charts by storm, we’re hoping her label get everything set up for Hailee to release her first full album next year.
14. BUSTED ARE BACK.
They haven’t been on tour for even longer than Little Mix, eleven years to be in fact. And now they’re back with a greatest hits tour and a brand new studio album in 2016. Our seven-year-old selves are peeing everywhere.
15. Purpose World Tour
The Biebs is back on tour with his best music yet and his body looking the best it ever has. We want to go even if it’s just for a bit of a perv.
16. More fun and laughs with Maximum Pop!
One Direction and Sam Smith may be taking a break from music this year but Maximum Pop! will always be here with you through all the hard times of missing your faves and all the laughs along the way, with another pop filled year. Make sure you join us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram too.
