MP! Awards 2016: The results

You’ve been voting in the MP! Awards all of December. This was your moment to show your faves how much you appreciate their hard work in 2016.

You guys have voted in your hundreds of thousands and we are actually physically shook by your dedication, but voting has now closed and it’s time to announce the winners of our polls. Here goes…

Best solo star of 2016 – Niall Horan

Awww Nialler! We were so happy he chose to begin what will doubtlessly be an amazing and successful solo career in 2016. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for 2017!

Best group of 2016 – One Direction

Despite being on hiatus for most of 2016, your 1D love has not wained one bit. They still managed to take the Best Group award by a big, big margin.

Single of the Year – ‘Work From Home’

Fifth Harmony announced their domination of 2016 with this saucy stomper which was literally inescapable for the whole summer. Despite the current state of things with the group, no-one can deny that ‘WorkFrom Home’ is one of the best songs of the year.

Album of the Year – ‘Mind of Mine’

Zayn really made his intentions clear with this mature collection lead by mega hit ‘Pillowtalk’. You guys have been listening to this album since it was released nine months ago and your love clearly hasn’t diminished. Go zquad!

Ultimate Queen of 2016 – Lauren Jauregui

Whooooa man! Camila was leading this one until the very last minute. When we tweeted out yesterday she was quite far ahead but Lauren’s chickens have thrown all their weight behind their champ and she managed to bag thousands and thousands of votes in a very short amount of time.

Never underestimate a chicken… Congrats Lauren! You’re fab x

Ultimate Boss of 2016 – Calum Hood

Calum is the boss. We knew it. You knew it. But now it’s official.

The MP! Awards are over for another year. Thank you to everyone who voted and congrats to all the winners. Here’s to a poptastic 2017!
