Whilst the trailer has been released and we’ve had some seriously beaut set pictures of Harry Styles himself, we’re still none the wiser about if this boy can actually act. Apart from his short appearance on iCarly twelve hundred years ago, and Marcel in BSE, of course. Tbh, we still need physical proof that ‘Dunkirk’ is real and that Harry is legit in a Christopher Nolan film. It all sort of feels like a magical dream we’ve conjured up in our own heads, ngl.
But the time is here and one actor has given his initial judgements on Harry Styles’ ability to act.
Harry’s co-star, Cillian Murphy, on ‘Dunkirk’ was recently asked about what it was like to work with the One Direction star and he had nothing but good things to say. Phew!
“He’s a great kid. I’ve really enjoyed working with him. I’ve not actually done any acting scenes with him, but I think there’s a definite crossover between music and film.
“He’s a really, really lovely kid and very charismatic and we’ve had great fun. You know, Christopher Nolan’s not gonna cast an actor unless he’s a talented person, so I’m sure he’ll be amazing.”
Can we also talk about how Cillian literally lights up when Harry’s name is mentioned. Watch for yourself:
Honestly, we are one in the same with Cillian. Harry is pure sunshine.
Cillian Murphy’s comments come not long after Mark Rylance (the actual BFG) also gushed about Harry’s charisma. We’re so proud, we can barely hold ourselves together at this point.
“I didn’t know anything about him really other than my 12-year-old niece played me a music video. She adores him. There are girls all over the place trying to get to him — he is one handsome fella with an incredible smile and eyes.
“What’s really surprised me is he’s really witty, really funny — he really makes me laugh. He’s been ever so brave, not making any fuss.”
He added that Harry was apparently “shaping up” and didn’t need any tips from ‘The BFG’ actor.
Isn’t it wonderful to be in a world where everyone is in love with Harry Styles? We’re so pleased people are seeing his potential and we cannot wait to see ‘Dunkirk’ next year on the 21st July. It cannot come fast enough.
